Blog / Triangle Project: Hand-Crafted Details

As the Triangle House at 28th and V Streets progresses, we wanted to note one of the custom details: the hand-crafted concrete counters. The kitchens and bathrooms include contemporary counters made of lightweight concrete. The concrete is reinforced with glass fiber and, for this project, tinted with platinum pigment giving the counters an opaque blue-gray sheen.

The counters were made onsite by Colin Cunningham, who builds the molds, mixes the materials, pours the concrete and polishes the custom surfaces. The photos show Cunningham with the molds and tools of the trade. Especially interesting are the bathroom sinks that are continuation of the counter top; the sinks and counters are all one surface.

Check back soon for details about the Triangle Project open house.
