A good residential design needs be well-organized, private and aesthetically pleasing. It also must meet the needs of today’s lifestyles. In Midtown Sacramento, there is a need for 3-bedroom, 2-bath homes with ample storage. To meet these needs on a small and unusually shaped infill lot, the only way to go is up.

Our solution is a duplex with a 932 square-foot, 1-bedroom, 1-bath dwelling on the ground floor and a 1,883 square-foot, 3-bedroom, 2-bath residence on the second and third floors. Our design makes the most of the 2,362 square-foot site that is shaped like a triangle.

These photos show the mass and form of the residence, which create a rhythm in harmony with the adjacent 3-story building. Together they create a uniform 3-dimensional wedge that adds an interesting and cohesive street presence.
